We’ll explore:

why children’s needs may register as demands, even when parents deeply want to meet them
what parental demand avoidance feels like from the inside
why obligation, urgency and emotional importance can intensify avoidance
what happens when parent and child are both waiting for the other to move first
ways to reduce pressure without abandoning either person
language for conversations with partners, relatives and professionals
